In a world where one is confronted by social media at every turn and where Facebook is virtually part of one’s life it would seem that some of us are drowning in a whirl of social activity. Or are we? In facing screens day in and day out we have begun to alienate one another. Reality blends into one’s virtual activities. Some of us devote more time and attention towards our farms and animal on Facebook than we do to those who matter the most. Rather than making solid and long-lasting friendships we invest our spare moments in trivial matters that aren’t going to do anything for anyone in the long run. It’s time to step back and take a long hard look at our lives now.
Unfriend Yourself is something anyone addicted to social media or the online world needs to read. Do we realize how anti-social we have become in the name of socializing? This book gives us a wake-up call to take back our lives from the computer screen and reconnect with people we have wrongfully neglected. It isn’t too late – although one day it might be. If one does not have the initiative to that then at least pick up this book and give it a read. You’re missing a lot.
