The Lion’s Gate offers a view of the Six Day’s War through the eyes of those who fought in the war. Drawing from numerous interviews with those who witnessed this period firsthand Steven Pressfield brings a very momentous event to life. Informative although a little heavy this book should interest history and military buffs alike and become a welcomed addition in their libraries.
There are a vast array of speakers in this story and for some that may prove a little disruptive in the reading experience. A notebook might be in order to keep things from getting to confusing rather than flipping back and forth. At times the retelling can get a little – shall we say – unprofessional as language is an issue in this book .Gore is encountered rather frequently as well but then this is a rather personal account. Overall worth a read.
